Anti-Aging - Wrinkles Telling Your Life Story? Learn How and Why to Address Anti-Aging

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Is there stress? Are all of your life issues displayed for all to see? Or are you looking at a face that is stress free? A face that is smooth, relaxed and wrinkle free? I have heard women say they feel that every wrinkle, line, sag, bag and imperfection tells the story of who they are. And they claim that this is something they are proud of. It shows where they have been, the struggles they have survived. And the fact they have indeed, survived. Here is another one, "I have earned every wrinkle and gray hair". Wow.

On one level I have to agree. We do earn some of them. And others are just built in, our genetics. All of us have struggles, traumas and issues that come in and out of our lives. We deal with it and if we are healthy of mind, we move on. But the wrinkles and lines, sags and bags, they stay. Then there are those pesky genetics. Yes, we all have a path of family genetics that determines how we age.

For me, that is not the face I want to show the world. Yes, I have struggled with things. I have had issues, trauma and sadness. I just do not want to share it as a piece of living art on my face. You know how it is when a woman wears too much really strong perfume? Before you even see her you know she is coming, she is announced by the scent that arrives before her. Well, I feel the same way about wrinkles, on my face. I do not care to have my wrinkles, lines or stress tell a story about me that I am not ready to share. It is not an announcement I care to make to the whole world. I want to present the best face or image I can, not the harder side of my life, the part I have moved forward from, to all I meet.

Those who I do become close to will eventually know these things about me. And they will discover why I do not wear them as advertising. I choose to wear the face that says I have handled these things with grace. I want to present myself as a woman who has retained a fresh and positive outlook. And how easy is that if your face is showing wrinkles, sagging and stress? Not so easy, agreed?

So yes, I am a very strong advocate of wrinkle free skin care. Since I am an Esthetician I know what works. And what does not.Yes,I have wasted money on the empty promises, too. Only to go back to review what I should have remembered from my days in the facial room and the great education I received at the schools and seminars I attended.

Honestly, there is very little out there that can actually reduce a wrinkle, lift your sagging skin and restore youthful elasticity. But if you really want to get the scoop on reducing those wrinkles, anti-aging skin care, what facials provide lasting results, anti-aging ingredients and what they can do then you must do your homework. Do not buy into all the advertising hype. Do not get pulled in by a pretty package or beautiful ad. Those packages and ads are designed to do just that. Pull you in, make you believe.

Instead, go read, explore, surf the net. Consult a with a doctor if you feel the need. Educate yourself and learn what is hype and what is truth. Learn how not to get tricked by marketing strategy. Those marketing strategies promising you reversal of aging by just applying a layer of this cream or that cream really are not presenting a reality based picture of what is going on in your skin. The aging process starts deep in the skin and that is where the repair needs to take place. Surface wrinkles and lines are just the symptoms of what is going on at a deeper level in the skin. Learn how to address aging at the source.

You do not want one of those products that plump you up just for the day, do you? Then later on, just around evening when you want to go out or spend some quality time with your significant other, your face reverts back to early morning before the plump-cream state. What do you do then, start all over? Wash up, re-plump, new makeup? Really, is that what you want?

Or do you want to use products and remedies that can help you to actually reduce the appearance of wrinkles and facial aging over time, with lasting results? That is why you need to do your homework. Find out why your skin ages. How it happens. How you can avoid making mistakes in your daily life that accelerate the aging process. Want to know what a couple of those things are?

Your daily habits, such as how much unprotected sun exposure do you get, do you smoke, do you have a healthy diet full of antioxidant rich foods?

Learning those things is what anti-aging skin care should be all about. It is time to learn how to address aging intelligently. To find treatment rather than a temporary fix. It is time to stop wishing those marketing promises were true and start taking action through education on the aging of your skin. Once you know how your skin ages and why you will be able to make better and wiser choices. Does that make sense? I think it does.
